Did you tune in to see Sony's presentation of our new flagship devices at the IFA conference in Berlin? If not, you can read more about the Z3 family, including the new ultra slim and lightweight Z3 Tablet Compact further down. Have you noticed that the Sony kernel copyleft sources on GitHub are updated on an almost daily basis? If you are working with custom ROMs and kernels, this makes it much easier to integrate, track and review any changes for the build you are working on. Check it out to see what's new!
Related to this, we can also tell you that work is ongoing to make the AOSP sources available for many more devices and platforms on GitHub.

Rebuild kernels for flagship Xperia devices

Are you developing kernels and custom ROMs? Besides having the Sony kernel sources on GitHub, we have now also published a tutorial on how to rebuild a Linux kernel and flash it to the latest generation of Xperia flagship devices.


	New features and devices supported by Camera Remote API beta

We've just updated the Camera Remote API beta, and on our latest cameras you can now transfer recorded still images and movies, as well as delete content, playback remotely, and much more. New devices such as the innovative QX1 E-mount Interchangeable Lens-style Camera have also been added. Check out the Camera Remote API beta SDK to learn more.

SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk announced

The new SmartWatch 3 is a state-of-the-art SmartWatch powered by Android Wear. SmartBand Talk is a lifelogging SmartBand with curved display, call handling and voice control. For more information, check out the video and get all the tech specs for SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk.

This month: Develop clocks and widgets for the SmartWatch 2 watch face

Hi,

This month we'll tell you how to use two new features of the SmartWatch 2 API, which were released in the recent update of the Sony Add-on SDK. And as always we also have a lot of other exciting news and events going on:

This week Alin Jerpelea, well known from CyanogenMod's FreeXperia team, joins Sony's Developer Program. Alin will work on AOSP for Xperia and other open source projects. To learn more, check out our post about Alin Jerpelea on Developer World.
Also, if you're in the Tel Aviv area, come learn the latest about Android development, and meet us at Droidcon Tel Aviv on June 11-12. Here you can also meet several members of the Developer World team to talk about app development, SDKs and more.
Another sought-after update will soon come to the Camera Remote API beta, as it will be updated with new supported cameras and more API features for a number of already supported cameras. Read more about the coming Camera Remote API update on Sony Developer World!
